Antique roses, also called Victorian roses, are said to be the strongest and most fragrant rose survivors. The word ancient clearly applies to its history. However, antiques of all kinds will attract the attention of collectors. Is it better to place it near an antique museum than a flowering plant that is also called an antique? Antiques of all kinds have grown in popularity over the years. It makes sense to also win a flower with a similar name.

It is said that the cooler temperatures of autumn will stimulate old roses. It makes sense that the cooler weather motivates us as humans. Doesn't a cold shower make your blood run? While I don't recommend giving your roses a cold shower except in nature's rain, I would just like to make a point.

Many people start roses from cuttings. I'm not a "green thumb" person, so I haven't tried it yet. It's interesting to think that a single piece of another plant can produce something of this beauty when cared for properly.

There are a few things to consider when planting old roses. Things like soil pH balance, insects, proper grooming and pruning, fertilizing, fungus, mold, and late frosts are some of the things that need to be protected.

Some of the things the rose could coax to your delight are bumblebees and butterflies. Surely there are human visitors ready to be admired by the beautiful antique roses.

Keep in mind that some plants will only bloom once a year, so make your selection carefully. Also be sure to consider your climate. Protect your investment and you won't be disappointed. Prices for quart-sized jars range from $5.95 to $15.95.

Souvenirs of antique roses can be found in many flower shops. If money is an issue, you can go to discount stores, auctions, garage sales and flea markets.

You can find items with vintage rose themes in jewelry, paintings, curtains, lampshades, bedding, photo frames, stationery, and posters, to name a few.

The name "Antique Rose" carries a touch of romance, class and sophistication. There is an old saying that a rose by any other name is still a rose! Ah, but the many species with which God has blessed us! It seems that the name of this species commands respect.
